It’s not just the ports of Monaco and Antibes that draw the world’s biggest superyachts to the Cote d’Azur. This weekend saw the bays of Villefranche, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu and Eze crowded with superyachts, including 162-metre Eclipse, which comes in at number two in the world in terms of length.

Eclipse made SuperYacht World’s list of Top 50 Greatest Superyachts of All Time in our recent milestone 50th issue. Famous for her wealth of on board toys, her helicopter was in action on Sunday afternoon. The Blohm+Voss-built yacht famously belongs to Roman Abramovich, and she is often spotted cruising interesting corners of the world.

Also in the area was new-to-market explorer yacht Ulysses, the 107-metre Kleven. Delivered in March 2016, her owner is soon due to take delivery of a larger sistership. Ulysses can accommodate 30 guests in 15 suites and stores a 21-metre catamaran on the bow. Five bars and an 11-metre heated pool mean the ice-class yacht is just at home in the Mediterranean as the Arctic.

Damen’s yacht support vessels were well represented over the weekend, with both 69-metre Intrepid and 67-metre Garçon shadowing their motherships, 89-metre Oceanco Infinity and 87-metre Lürssen Ace respectively.

85-metre Lürssen Valerie, 78.5-metre Feadship Hampshire II and 72.6-metre Proteksan Turquoise Vicky were also spotted enjoying the protection the peninsula of St Jean Cap Ferrat has to offer discerning visitors.
