The MYBA charter show has enjoyed a second sunny day in Barcelona, with an increased number of trade visitors visiting the show today. For One Ocean, the show’s host, there’s a real sense of triumph as the months of work to prepare the marina come to fruition.

“It has been intense, but incredibly satisfying. I’ve been a yacht captain myself for many years and done the shows so I know exactly what it’s like to be on that side! And now to be on the other side and make it all happen is fantastic,” says Anders Pehrson, the harbourmaster at One Ocean Port Vell. “The registration opened in January and we had a lot of yachts sign up, and we have around 58 boats here today. We always hoped for a little bit more, but a few had to cancel for the usual reasons like they got a charter booking or works overran, but it’s a good number for a first show. Next year we will be able to do more as well. I’ve made sure to get an honest opinion from everyone I’ve spoken to, so we can patch up a few things for next time.”

Also at the show is Hill Robinson, a yacht management company. “Our aim for the show is to meet as many new people as possible and promote our services. A show like this is good for us because it’s industry focused. Maybe some owners or captains don’t know the range of services that we can offer, so having a stand here is a good way of meeting them,” says Romina Rastelli, charter manager at Hill Robinson.

Last night we the first ‘yacht hop’ of the show, with Yachting Partners International’s Axioma, TWW Yachts’ Double Down and Burgess’s Indian Empress all putting on a stunning feast and party for the MYBA members and guests.
