The hull and superstructure of the steel-hulled 55-metre Heesen Antares, the sale of which was announced last month, has been joined at the yard in Oss. The project’s twin MTU 8V4000 M63 engines were also installed. In the photo above, she’s shown next to the 50-metre Home (right), which launched in April.

Project Antares, an FDHF (Fast Displacement Hull Form) vessel, has been sold to an experienced American yachtsman, and will serve as a mothership to the owner’s sportfishing fleet. She also boasts an owner’s apartment that is 30 per cent larger than the previous two 55-metre Heesen FDHFs, having been expanded from 62 to 80 square metres.

Italian designers Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini are now working closely with the owner and his team to personalise the interior design of his new 740 GT vessel. “After meeting with the client, we have been working on the existing interior design to improve the owner’s 80-square-metre apartment, the lobby and the sky lounge, to match his lifestyle and taste,” says Francesco Paszkowski. “We are going to propose some layout changes as well as new material and finishes. For the latter we are going to do detailed research into select materials that will add lavish luxury to the interiors.”

Heesen’s Project Antares has now entered the outfitting phase and will be ready for delivery in November next year.
