Yesterday saw the launch of Purobeach Porto Montenegro, the new beach club complex at the Kotor-based marina, set to open this June. The club, which features a suspended 64-metre infinity pool, two bars, a restaurant, a spa and a boutique, will be a relaxing haven by day and a party venue by night. The pool itself is designed by Richard Hywel Evans and features an eye-catching three-metre scultpture.

“We wanted to make something different,” said Mats Wahlstrom, founder of Puro Group, talking to SuperYacht World yesterday. “Our aim was to create something contemporary with lots of character for high-level clients.”

The official launch will be on 30 June, and the area will be open from March until  September each year. Around 40 staff will be brought in, 90% from the local area.

“Porto Montenegro is a unique destination, and Purobeach share our vision of delivering high quality service in a beautiful way,” says managing director of Porto Montenegro Oliver Corlette.

A boutique hotel is also in build, to be run by Asia-based Regent Hotels and Resorts, and the marina is being expanded to accommodate 370 yachts of up to 150m in length.
