The rain can't dampen the spirits on the third day of the MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona

The rain was forecast and it came down strongly on the morning of Day 3 at the MYBA Charter Show. However, it didn’t dampen the mood, and the showers had eased off by the afternoon. On the dock, the crew of Meamina and Axioma ignored the weather and engaged in playful verbal banter, to the delight of those who came in contact with them and lifting the spirits of those nearby. This more relaxed atmosphere is what the MYBA show is all about, and it’s a great way of getting to know those who work behind the scenes and take a charter experience from good to great.

Many of the yachts also hosted brokers’ lunches and there is the 2nd Yacht Hop planned for tonight, both events where the hard-working crew show off the skills and hospitality that make their yachts so popular for charters and keep the guests returning year after year.

MYBA Charter SHow Day 3

In terms of the space it occupies, this is the largest the show has been for many years, with exhibitors and guests alike commenting that the new format allows them to see more people and stay busy for the full four days of the show. “The feedback we’ve heard most over the past three days is how impressed people are, which is wonderful,” says Armelle Dunphy from MYBA. “And some of these people are from big companies and people who know what they are talking about and can be hard to please, so to be told that they are very impressed is really great for us.”

Day 3 is also the culmination of the Chefs’ Competition, and the judges tasted the offerings from the final round of entered superyachts, and now only have to make the difficult decision of who to award the prizes to ahead of the ceremony and prize-giving tomorrow afternoon. SuperYacht World are proud sponsors, and welcome you to join and congratulate everyone who entered at 1500 tomorrow in the hospitality tent.
